Inspiration

A historic building with a rich history required a thoughtful, contemporary redesign. In the former Smidt Van Gelder Museum, acoustic stretch walls and ceilings from MonaVisa were integrated as a fully-fledged design element, in complete harmony with the heritage. Between woodwork and ornamentation, acoustically printed stretch walls create a sense of tranquility without disrupting the character. Evenly lit acoustic ceilings provide focus and comfort in the workspaces. The result is a building where grandeur and tranquility converge—historically refined, contemporary, and habitable.

Compact living without sacrificing peace and comfort. In this ground-floor apartment, acoustics were considered a key design element from the outset. Sleek materials, abundant light, and glass demanded a thoughtful solution without visual compromises. MonaVisa integrated an acoustic stretch ceiling that seamlessly blends into the architecture while also making a noticeable difference. The result: a modern apartment with true silence, welcoming conversations, and a quality of living that you can both feel and hear.

The iconic Brasserie Belga Queen in Brussels has been restored to its former glory. Belga Queen remains one of Brussels' most distinctive dining experiences. Housed in the former Hôtel de la Poste—a nineteenth-century neoclassical building with majestic stained-glass windows, high ceilings, and a strikingly symmetrical architecture—the building exudes history. But that very grandeur presented a challenge: reverberation, hard materials, and a complex spatial geometry. MonaVisa was asked to make this heritage shine again, with acoustic comfort that does not affect the historical character, but enhances it.

Knokke boasts many iconic locations, but La Réserve stands in a class of its own. Since its inception in the 1920s and its reconstruction in the 1950s, the hotel has become a meeting place for the European elite: artists, diplomats, collectors, and gourmets. A home where luxury never shouts but whispers – where materials speak and silence betrays quality.
